aboutme
Hello and a warm welcome to you. I'm Matt, a professionally qualified counsellor based in Torbay and Newton Abbot area. I am a member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and I adhere to their ethical framework to ensure you receive the highest standard of support. I understand that taking the first step into counselling and reaching out for support can be difficult - so thank you for being here.
Life can be overwhelming at times. You might be feeling stuck, lost, or weighed down by things you can't always name. Perhaps you're navigating a difficult time, carrying pain from the past, or simply longing to feel more like yourself again.
People come to counselling for many reasons. Some are facing anxiety, low mood, or grief. Others are struggling with relationships, self-esteem, or life transitions.
Sometimes, it's not about a crisis at all - but a deep need to be heard, understood and supported.
Whether you're feeling disconnected, burnt out, or just know that something needs to shift, counselling can offer a space to explore what's going on for you - at your pace, in a way which suits you.
Whatever brings you here, you're welcome just as you are.
