Welcome
Hello and a warm welcome to you. I'm Matt, a professionally qualified counsellor, I am a member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and I adhere to their ethical framework to ensure you receive the highest standard of support. I understand that taking the first step into counselling and reaching out for support can be difficult - so thank you for being here.

Life can be overwhelming at times. You might be feeling stuck, lost, or weighed down by things you can't always name. Perhaps you're naviagting a difficult time, carrying pain from the past, or simply longing to feel more like yourself again.
People come to counselling for many reasons. Some are facing anxiety, low mood, or grief. Others are struggling with relationships, self-esteem, or life transitions.
Sometimes, it's not about a crisis at all - but a deep need to be heard, understood and supported.
Whether you're feeling disconnected, burnt out, or just know that something needs to shift, counselling can offer a space to explore what's going on for you - at your pace, in a way which suits you.
Whatever brings you here, you're welcome just as you are.

My Approach
I believe in the power of a strong therapeutic relationship built on mutual trust and openness. My aim is to create a warm, collaborative space where you feel supported, accepted and safe to bring your full, authentic self into the work.

We are all unique. Each of us sees, feels and experiences the world in our own unique way. Over time, we develop learnt and unconscious behaviours, patterns and triggers that shape how we relate to ourselves and others. These patterns can be deeply rooted - often formed in response to early environments or painful life experiences.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of approaches including Humanistic, CBT, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Mindfulness and Existentialism. This flexible, holistic way of working allows me to tailor the counselling process to meet your individual needs and support you in a way that feels meaningful and effective.

There is no quick fix in counselling. I don’t offer advice or ready-made solutions. Instead, I offer a calm and compassionate space where you can explore what’s going on for you - at your pace, in a way that works for you. My focus is always on you - the person - not just the presenting issue. We’ll work together, with openness and respect, to help you move toward greater clarity, connection and self-acceptance.

Together, we’ll build self-awareness and deepen your understanding of who you are - because I believe this is the foundation for healing, growth and lasting change. When we connect more fully with ourselves - with what we value, what we want and what we need - we can begin making clearer decisions, forming healthier relationships and feeling more in control of our emotional world. We become more resilient, more patient and more able to respond to life, rather than react from old patterns.

I hold a strong belief in human potential. Life can be challenging and at times our path may feel uncertain. My role is to walk alongside you with respectful curiosity, gently exploring the difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences that may be holding you back. As awareness grows, so does choice - and with that, the possibility for a more connected, resilient and fulfilling life where your potential can begin to unfold.
